Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), NIT Rourkela organized TEQIP-III sponsored one day Seminar on “Gender Equality at Workplace" on August 20, 2019 at 9:00 am. in the Bhubaneswar Behera Auditorium.

Background:

The seminar was conceived with an intention to aware every stakeholder of this institute in exercising individual rights in civic life, having a faith in equality: equal opportunity and responsibility irrespective of gender and to implement an anti-sexual harassment mechanism in compliance with the law, as well as for the well-being of the students, staff and faculty members. This need-based seminar was about detection and prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace; effectively rooting out the disease and making our workplace safe and secure.

Program outcome:

Improvement in the following behavioral areas was expected in the participants after successfully taking part in the workshop.

• Inter-personal interaction- sense of solidarity
• Communication, co-operation and co-ordination
• Understanding the perception men and women have about each other.
• Ability to minimize misunderstandings.
• Quick conflict resolution, Restoration of discipline.
• Ability to resolve problems at lowest level within shortest possible time.
